It is decided – you are going to spend your holiday in Los Angeles and you have already booked airplane tickets and accommodation at a serviced Los Angeles apartment that was highly recommended by a friend of yours. Now you have to make a plan for the things that you want to see and do, while being in that great city. There are so many exciting things that you can do in Los Angeles and most probably you will not have the time for all of them. To name just a few these would be the theme park at the Universal Studios, the outdoor mall called City Walk, the shopping center Hollywood and Highland, the famous Chinese Theatre Grauman with the handprints of many celebrities in front, tale a walk along Rodeo Drive or visit the Disneyland theme park, which is approximately 45 min drive from the city in southern direction. There are however many other things that one can do in Los Angeles. They are given below in no particular order and their visits depend on the time you plan to spend in the city.
With no doubt at all, you should visit the Malibu Beach while in L.A. to enjoy the sand and the sea waves, but also to see great people and to be seen. Of course, you can also check Venice Beach and Manhattan Beach, as well as Zuma Beach which is the most picturesque of all. When tired of sunbathing and swimming, as well as celebrities spotting, you can go on a Warner Brothers Studio Tour. You can go to see one of the big studios where you can enjoy the different facades, streets, etc. A good idea would also be to visit the Huntington Library, where you can see some great pieces of art and some interesting documents and books. Outside the library there is a huge botanical garden where you can see different herbs and plans, as well as an amazing rose garden. There are to be spotted a jungle and a desert, a Japanese and a Chinese garden, a subtropical garden and lily ponds. Not to be missed is also the Museum J. Paul Getty, which has free entrance and will offer you a great experience as it is not the regular museum as you might image it.
Going to L.A. without a stroll and some shopping along its most famous boulevards would be such a pity. Thus, better head off to Melrose Avenue and Rodeo Drive to enter some famous stores and boutiques. The outdoor shopping is very pleasant along the Thirds Street Promenade, which is full of tourists or great stores with bargain items. You should also check Robertson Boulevard with its restaurants and boutiques, plus some interesting cafes. You can also check the Olvera Street, which used to be the center of the city once. There you can by some souvenirs or eat at the traditional Mexican restaurants, where the cuisine is very good. Note however that Los Angeles is famous with its sushi restaurants, so if you love that type of food you will find plenty of such restaurants there.
